Tom Belshe, Deputy Director for the Arizona League of Cities and Towns, made a presentation to the community regarding the topic of a local primary property tax. The pools will close for the winter season on November 1, 2009 and reopen April 1, 2010. The lobby and weight room hours will not impact the scheduled youth sport basketball league practices, tennis lessons or preschool classes. A telephone reassurance program called "RUOK" is being offered to the residents of Litchfield Park with special needs. Offered by Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office the program is free of charge and is designed to provide support through daily automated phone calls to residents who have agreed to participate in the program. In addition, residents of Litchfield Park who have a concern about a traffic issue in our City may now submit a Citizen's Request for Traffic/Special Enforcement form. All particpants receive an official run t-shirt and a raffle ticket for prize giveaways.
