Starting Monday, May 18th, the West Valley Census office will reopen and will begin their “phased restart.”
As always, the health and safety of the public and Census staff is of the utmost importance.
All returning staff will receive safety training to observe social distancing protocols in the COVID-19 environment. The Census Bureau has ordered Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all field employees, including those that work in a field office. These materials will be provided to staff prior to restarting operations.
As part of the phased restart, the Census Bureau will be dropping off 2020 Census invitation packets at front doors of households in areas where the majority of households do not receive mail at their home. This will be a no-contact operation. Census Workers are only hanging the Census packet on doors, not ringing doorbells or knocking and interacting with residents. It is important to the City that your household is counted. If you have not taken the Census survey, please do so when the packet arrives at your door or go to 2020Census.gov and fill out the self-response survey. It only takes a few minutes.
